Israeli "Foreign Minister Of Indonesia Retno" pointing violated secret agreements
Deputy Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely in a meeting in the Knesset (parliament) today said the reason the Star of David that State prohibits the Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi visited Ramallah a few days ago was because of a secret deal between Israel and Indonesia have been violated.
According to the previous agreement, when Israeli officials secretly visited Jakarta, the two sides have agreed that Retno Foreign Minister will also visit Jerusalem and met Israeli officials.
If the deal happens, the Foreign Minister Retno will be Indonesia's foreign minister first visit to Israel.
When members of parliament for the Arab Ahmad Tibi asked about the ban, Hotovely said Foreign Ministry Director for Asia, Mark Sofer visited Jakarta a few days before Minister Retno going to Ramallah to discuss the visit.
"Already there is clear agreement that Marsudi will visit Ramallah, including to Israel and met with senior officials in Jerusalem," said Hotovely, as reported by the Haaretz newspaper, on Wednesday (16/3).
But then Hotovely said Foreign Minister Retno violate the agreement with canceling a visit to Jerusalem.
"He understood to have violated the established rules of Israel," said Hotovely. "Although Indonesia does not have diplomatic relations with us, Israel still respect the Indonesian people and the leaders. We continue to maintain relations with Indonesia in various problems and try to improve ongoing relationships."
According to Hotovely, Israel has set the rules so for any officials who will visit Palestine must also pay a visit to Israel. This rule applies to all states, both of which have diplomatic relations or not.
"Indonesia is no exception in this regard," he said. "Every senior international officials to go through Jerusalem."
Tibi then respond Hotovely explanation, saying such policies proves Israel is a colonialist governing who gets into or out of Palestine.
"Why should not interfere. This is a country that has been recognized by the United Nations," said Tibi referring to the Palestinians.
Hotovely then remained adamant Minister Retno obviously have violated the agreement that was made before his visit to Ramallah.
"When an agreement has been reached between the countries that had a secret relationship and then violated, do not be surprised if later you can not enter Palestine," he said.
